Yearbook Cover Contest

To enter the Sherwood Elementary School yearbook cover contest, fill out the fields on the form above and attach it to your entry. Submit your entry to Mr. Wilson in the Art Room by the end of the school day on Monday, December 2nd.
The theme of the yearbook is “A School of Sharks”. Please illustrate what being a Sherwood Shark looks like or means to you. Think about being kind, smart and ready to learn. You may include a word or phrase. Try to make your artwork unique and have fun!
Rules and Instructions
-
The artwork must be the original work of the Sherwood Elementary School student (no siblings or parents are allowed to help).
-
Sherwood students in any grade are eligible to enter.
-
Use a plain, white sheet of paper (ex. copier/printer paper) no larger than one quarter of a sheet (4” x 5.5”). attached is a template.
-
Use markers, crayons, colored pencils, paint, etc. You may not glue or attach anything to the page that sticks up because entries must be scanned.
-
Fill out this form with your name, teacher and grade so we know it’s yours. Attach the form to your drawing with a paperclip -- do not staple anything to your design so that it can be scanned.
-
DO NOT include your name(s) in your design. All artwork must be anonymous for the vote. Any design with names will be disqualified.
-
All entries must be submitted by Monday, December 2nd, 2024!
Design Tips
-
Make sure your lettering is very neat and spelled correctly.
-
Bright and vivid colors make better covers because they scan best.
-
Your background and other parts of your picture should go all the way to the edges of your outline.
-
When creating your artwork, be careful that your artwork does NOT have eraser marks, smudges, unwanted pencil marks, and so forth, since the scanner will copy the artwork as is. If you are coloring the background, white areas should NOT be visible.
-
Do NOT use any copyrighted images or trademarks in your artwork.
-
Be creative and use your imagination!
Other Information
-
Runner-up entries may be used throughout the yearbook if space permits.
-
The first round of judging will be done by a committee composed of Mr. Jefferson, Mr. Vaughn-Smith, Mr. Wilson and two PTA members. The 3 (three) grade level finalists will then be submitted to their grade level peers for final selection of the 2024-2025 grade level sticker winner.
